Education of children below the age of 18 years is the foremost priority for Maasahayam Foundation. Despite the huge investments by the Government- Central as well as the State, and compulsory free education up to 14 years of age, nearly 25% children of school going age are out of school. Millions of children drop out of school in the country every year and Telangana is no exception. Children drop out for various social, economic and cultural reasons or due to compelling family reasons. Maasahayam plans to work with the system, society, communities and families to prevent children from dropping out of school and ensure continuation of education up to minimum of 18 years of age. Foundation would identify and provide support children in difficult circumstances who are on the verge of dropping out or recently dropped out. The support would include financial, social and other needed facilitation. While closely working with the Government Schools to start with rural mandals of Karimnager in Telangana state, the Foundation is also in the process of identifying a few private schools to support Maasahayam’s objectives and engage them as partners.

Early childhood education of 3-6 years old children is an important aspect for healthy growth of children, but often neglected or poorly delivered. Maasahaym focuses on developing and demonstrating a few models of early childhood education centres and would advocate for replication.
